Blog for Badminton stringer(s).
I have been restringing for over 15years and learnt the craft from my flatmate in New Zealand, who learnt it from his father - an ex-district player in Malaysia.

Racquet with designed Non-traditional stringing pattern
Unique stringing pattern for a Hart Infinite OV-3000, the grommet layout facilitates a top-down approach.
Cool. Saw this brand of racket once and didn't expect it to play well until I personally tried the Pro Shooter series which is designed for aggressive play. In fact, I played better with it compared to my Yonex Nanospeed 50. Didn't expect a budget racket to be quite sturdy and promising.
I was told that rubbing some wax to the string (sweet spot) with a candle increases the bounciness of rackets strung with high tension, thus giving the shuttlecock greater force to go further. Is that true??
Personally I do not believe so and there is no scientific data to support this urbanlegend.
If the string was not overstretched, strung evenly and the player hits the sweetspot most of the time - you will have the desired results.
As to the using higher tension urbanlegend, all I can say is strings break faster and provide the shops with good reoccuring profits! If you ever perform a sampling of the string tension the coaches themselves use, you would find most are below 25lb! Why? Coz most of them have undergone training and can usually hit the sweetspot.
In fact, I do not take pride in having to restring my clients racquets often - if it was so, then I did not deliver the craftsmanship they paid for. The carpenters are those who want to see you restring more often.
Hello guys, I want to know yours honest opinion. Just bought my racket which is Fischer Cruiser 83 carbon and my tension is 26lb and using 0.63 string YangYang brand. i dont know about this string brand but the stringer recommend me that string. im a normal player but i love to smash. btw, im playing double. Before this im using RSL M10 with tension 26lb and 0.65 string. It last 3 month until it broke. in your opinion, is my string balance with my tension?? And how long it will be last? I play 3 times a week. Sorry for my bad english. Thanks :)
Hehe sorry bro. feel bit curious. Just finish playing. I played 3 hours total n the string is suitable for me. I played smashed quite often and the control is very good. But, i saw the string wasnt strung properly. Its like not straight on the some line. Why ar? Is it the stringer not properly string my racket? Should i change to the new or just played until it broke? Thanks.
Repulsion from the string is only possible if it can stretch and then contract (like your muscles) - to create the "push" onto the shuttle.
This is a common misconception of players - if the string does not move at all, then either you are getting it strung at extremely high tension and the string has been fully stretched, or, you are using STEEL WIRES for string! Either way you can then save lotsa money and just use a piece of solid plastic or wood instead! HAHAHA
Dealing with the various range of players, you can distinguish between those who had undergone proper training and vice-versa, based on their requirements. Usually those who had/are say ex-Malaysia state or district players tend NOT TO WORRY about the brand, model racquet or string. Instead they are more concerned regarding how these handle when used together aka THE FEEL.
Okay. I got your point sir. THE FEEL is first priority than the brand, hehe. Thanks a lot sir. If i have any question i will contact you. And please give us the more nfo or share ur experience about badminton. I like your post sir 👍 thanks again ya.
What string and tension did you tie this racket with??
ReplyDeleteMy client requested for 23lb tension using a Gosen string. The racquet max tension is 28lb

ReplyDeleteIf you like the feel, why worry about string brand etc?
DeleteIf durability is your 1st priority then best go for thicker strings.
